Canadian Biosafety Symposium 2007


An innovative event for Canada’s biosafety professionals and personnel involved in biosafety and/or biocontainment facilities will be held in Montreal from November 4th to 6th, 2007.

The Canadian Biosafety Symposium will feature presentations and posters on an array of biosafety topics, including microbiological techniques, laboratory facilities and equipment, biosecurity, and, infectious diseases affecting human and animals. It will be a unique opportunity for the Canadian biosafety community to learn and share knowledge with colleagues from across Canada and other countries.

The Symposium will bring together people working across the biosafety field in universities, government and the private sector, such as:

  • Laboratory managers and administrators
  • Academic and government laboratory researchers
  • Government regulators
  • Biocontainment professionals
  • Equipment and facilities providers
  • Risk assessment and safety specialists

The event will feature prominent infectious diseases and biosafety specialists, and will involve presentations by biosafety professionals selected from abstracts and papers that are currently being welcomed from all sources.

The Symposium is sponsored by a new partnership group including the Public Health Agency of Canada, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, Centre for Research on Environmental Microbiology (University of Ottawa), ABSA Canada, and the International Centre for Infectious Diseases.
